Senior Vice President / COO at Basic EcoMarket Farms

Basic EcoMarket Farms (BEF) is a joint venture between Basic Energy, a publicly listed company in
the Philippines, and EcoMarket Farms. BEF is developing a cassava to ethanol project in
Zamboanga. BEF is cuurently focused on expanding its cassava farms. By 2012, in partnership
with Trio-Chem, an Indian green engineering company, it is expected that BEF will produce 60,000
liters per day of bio-ethanol.

The GHG Management Institute is a nonprofit whose mission is to combat global climate change by building the army of professionals needed to ethically and competently account, verify, and manage the emissions of greenhouse gases that cause climate change. GHGMI is a partner of the World Resources Institute, Carbon Disclosure Project, Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, UNFCCC, Point Carbon, Harvard University Extension School, General Electric, Association of Energy Engineers, Offset Quality Initiative, and more. It offers rigorous training online and has trained more than 500 people in 40 countries. It also offers professional networking and boasts of the world's largest GHG management network. I co-founded ECG and managed its e-Learning Centre for Sustainable Development. ECG hosts
courses on climate change, global trade, biodiversty, and sustainability in partnership with the UN,

During my 10 year career at the United Nations, I worked at the Institute for Training and Research
(UNITAR), Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the Conference on Trade
and Development (UNCTAD). In all of these agencies, I worked on climate change, particularly in
assisting developing and emerging countries to prepare national climate change strategies. I
worked in Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and Western and
Southern Africa. My responsibilities included fund-raising, program design, and managing
international partnerships with NGOs, research institutions, and governments.
