President and Chief Executive Officer
NORTHWIND POWER DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
A Danish National, Niels is President and Chief Executive Officer of Northwind Power Development Corporation. As such, he oversees the overall activities of the company, including but not limited to the operations of the plant; contractual commitments with customer and contractors; business concerns and decisions; organization; cultivating external and community relations; and managing company directions and expansion plans.
Prior to his stint with Northwind, he assumed executive and consultancy positions with other projects in the Philippines having been the President of BWSC Mindanao Inc. (2x100MW diesel power barges); Owner’s Representative of East Asia Utilities Corporation (4x12MW diesel power plant); and as Consultant to Rolls Royce Power Ventures Inc. for the 10MW steam plant of Rhombus Energy, Inc. and 8.8MW diesel plant of ORCA Energy, Inc.
In the list of his past experiences include participation in different power projects in Denmark, Africa and Asia in different capacities either as Commissioning Engineer, Commissioning Manager, Project Engineer and as Project Manager.
A Marine Engineer by profession obtained in Denmark, Mr. Jacobsen played the key role in the realization of the first on-grid wind farm in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
